Alexander Armstrong - Classic FM Radio - 5 August 2024
“… Fischer’s experience with these symphonies is apparent in that his decisions seem logical and respectful of Haydn’s texts…Fischer’s new recordings are satisfying supplements to a well-stocked library of Haydn’s music and safe introductions for those discovering this music. I hope that Naxos will give Fischer an opportunity to record a second full cycle of Haydn’s symphonies, an undertaking that would make him the first conductor to do so.”

“…Fischer must have conducted more Haydn than anyone alive. And after half a century’s immersion in these symphonies his delight in the composer’s unpredictable inventiveness and (in the finales) darting wit is as palpable as ever.”
Richard Wigmore – Gramophone magazine – December 2023

“Neat, deft playing from Ádám Fischer and a Danish band always light on its feet and strong on charm.”

“… The rich orchestration comes across succinctly and fully displays Haydn’s originality and inventiveness. The slow movements are full of lyrical expression and immensely elegant. The dance movements are sweeping and graceful, but also give place to the rustic where appropriate.
The recorded sound is warm and rich, with unique detail.”
Remy Franck – Pizzicato.lu – 13 October 2023
